Rugged Edge Lifetime Warranty
We build mission-critical tools designed to last a lifetime. Every Rugged Edge blade is covered against defects in materials and workmanship for as long as you own it.

What we cover: Structural failure of the Damascus steel, handle delamination, or forging flaws.

Maintenance: Damascus steel requires care. This warranty does not cover rust due to neglect or damage caused by improper sharpening.

Intended Use: Our knives are for cutting. Damage from prying, throwing, or using a blade as a screwdriver is not covered.
The "Mission-Critical" Replacement We know that in the field, things happen. If you break your knife during an "honest mistake" or extreme use that falls outside our standard warranty, don't sweat it. Send us the remains and your story—we’ll offer you a one-time replacement at 50% off to get a Rugged Edge blade back in your hand.
Rugged Edge Blades: Knife Care
& Maintenance
A Damascus blade is a high-performance tool, not a piece of stainless steel. It requires respect and proper care to remain mission-ready. Follow these rules to ensure your blade lasts for generations.
1. The Golden Rule: Keep it Dry
Damascus steel is forged from high-carbon steels. Unlike mass-produced stainless knives, it will rust if left wet.

Hand Wash Only: Never, under any circumstances, put your knife in the dishwasher.

Immediate Dry: After use, wash with mild soap and warm water, then dry it immediately with a clean cloth.

No Soaking: Never leave your blade sitting in a sink or standing water.
2. Protect the Steel (The Oil Barrier)
Because high-carbon steel is "reactive," it needs a thin protective layer to block moisture from the air.

Apply Oil Regularly: After drying, apply a light coat of food-safe mineral oil or specialized blade wax.

Long-Term Storage: If you aren't using the blade for a while, apply a slightly heavier coat of oil. Do not store the knife inside a leather sheath for long periods, as leather can trap moisture against the steel.
3. Proper Use & Edge Retention
Your Rugged Edge blade is built for tough tasks, but it is still a precision cutting instrument.

Cutting Surfaces: Use wood or plastic cutting boards. Avoid glass, granite, or tile, which will dull the edge instantly.

Avoid Prying: Do not use your blade as a pry bar or screwdriver. This can cause the tip to snap or the edge to chip.

Maintenance Sharpening: Use a ceramic honing rod or a fine-grit whetstone to maintain the edge. If you aren't comfortable sharpening Damascus, seek a professional or contact us.
4. Handling the "Patina"
Over time, your Damascus steel will develop a "patina"—a natural darkening or color change. This is not a defect; it is a badge of honor that actually helps protect the steel from deep corrosion. Embrace the character your blade develops through use.
Pro-Tip for "Mission-Critical" Performance: If you’re out in the field and don't have mineral oil, any clean vegetable oil or even unscented lip balm can serve as a temporary moisture barrier until you get back to base.
Stay Sharp. Stay Rugged.
