Our Founder's Journey
Rugged Edge Blades started out of a frustration.
Our founder, Robert Bruce, was tired of mass-produced knives that couldn't keep up. He searched for a quality Damascus steel blade that was both affordable and actually performed in the real world. What he found instead were vendor partners who over-promised and under-delivered, blades that looked good but broke under pressure, and a market full of disposable gear disguised as craftsmanship.
So he found a better way.
Robert partnered with master blacksmiths who specialize in Damascus steel forging. They were artisans who shared his commitment to quality and deliver consistent craftsmanship, fast service, and blades worthy of a lifetime warranty. Together, they built Rugged Edge Blades on a simple principle:
If it's not good enough to pass on, it's not good enough to sell. Today, every knife we make is exclusively Damascus steel. No exceptions.
